Located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills, NC between the highways at Milepost 9.5 is The Seattle Sailor. This property has been a private 2nd home for most of the past 34years & has been well maintained.
As you enter the cottage you come into a great room with vaulted ceiling with a kitchen & dining area. The cottage is tastefully decorated with beachy colors & attention to detail. There are 3 bedrooms & 2 baths. The master bedroom has an attached bath. Two other bedrooms share a bathroom with tub/shower. Bedroom #2 has a queen bed. Bedroom #3 has twin beds.
Sliding glass doors & floor to ceiling windows (new in late 2011) surround the great room area & open to a large deck with plush deck furniture. Enjoy your morning cup of Joe as the sun rises or sip your cocktail in the afternoon shade.
The kitchen is well appointed with a large selection of pots & pans (including copperware), Corningware, heavy stainless silverware, cute "fishy" dinnerware, & plenty of glasses & coffee mugs. A microwave, dishwasher, 2 coffee makers (a 4 cup & 10 cup), toaster, blender, & a crockpot complete the kitchen set-up. The refrigerator was replaced in Dec. 2012. General spices such as salt, pepper, garlic powder, & others are provided for you. Also coffee filters, hand soap, dish soap & dishwasher detergent.
There are 3 cable TVs- 42 inch flat screen TV in the great room, 21 inch flat screen TV in the master bedroom, and TV in the twin bedroom, along with a CD & DVD player in the great room. We also provide an assortment of games & puzzles, DVDs, CDs, magazines & books for your entertainment. Of course the beach is the main draw but if you have a rainy day you are all set to enjoy the indoors as well!
All mattresses have been replaced within the last 2 years. All linens are provided with your rental-including bed linens, bath towels, hand towels, wash clothes, & kitchen towels. Beds will be made up prior to your arrival. (YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN BEACH TOWELS.)
Downstairs is covered parking, an enclosed shower room, separate laundry room, picnic table, & a charcoal grill for your enjoyment. Also provided are beach chairs, beach umbrella, & sand toys. However, we can not guarantee their presence all summer. As the property is located on a corner lot there is plenty of parking available just steps away. Beach access is located at the end of the street approx. 700 ft. from the cottage.
This is not your typical rental! We are looking to build our rental clientele & go the extra mile to make your vacation stay enjoyable. Minimum age requirement for rental is 25 years of age. RENTS SUNDAY TO SUNDAY.
THERE IS NO LAND-LINE PHONE at the cottage. You will need to rely on your cell phone. Also Internet service is not provided. Free WiFi is available less than 1 block away.
There are tons of things to see and do on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Many are within walking distance of the cottage. If you want to venture out for the day, we suggest the quaint town of Manteo or a trip to the tiny island of Ocracoke, a ferry ride away from Hatteras. Lighthouses are abundant on the Outer Banks & it is possible to visit 4 during your time on vacation.
PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK AVAILABILITY CALENDAR BEFORE CONTACTING ME. I keep the calendar up to date & don't want to waste your time with requesting information about a week that is already booked. Rates are firm unless I have posted otherwise. Don't ask for a discount. I know times are tight for everyone. I feel my prices are very fair for what I offer. For example, the 3 BR cottage across the street from mine is rented thru an agency for $1200 per week in-season & they do not provide any linens, towels, beach chairs, sand toys, or any of the other indoor amenities I provide with your rental of my cottage. Do your homework, then book with me.
